Background

Vurra Vocational Training Institute is an initiative by Vurra Women and Orphans Initiative for Sustainable Development (VUWOISD)
VUWOISD was founded and registered as Community Based Organization (CBO) in Vurra Sub-county in Arua district in 2017 to promote competence based Formal and non-formal hand-on skills training for employability and wealth creation in Arua District and Uganda. We transform individuals and communities from dependency to self-reliance and resilience through Formal and informal tailor-made skills training programs based on local skills gaps identified for identified group of trainees at community levels. Vurra Vocational Training Institute (VVIT) is a unique institute of higher learning established to advance transformation of students into employable, service oriented, highly skilled, self-sustaining, morally & ethically competent workforce with strong holistic and intellectual development. The institute creates a challenging learning environment that encourages high expectations for success, enables students actualize their potential and desire to succeed. By designing appropriate instruction and learning methods, the institute. te enables students realize their greatest potential and transforms them into productive professionals. They are able to adopt and adjust to the diverse and everchanging society, develop multiple abilities and become agents of Socio-economic transformation.
